Bill Gates, one of the wealthiest men alive, is passionate about fighting climate change. In a recent interview, he warned everyone of the sacrifices we will have to make to avoid a climate disaster. This statement was broadcasted live from his 367 foot long, 650 million dollar superyacht, the Aqua. 
“It won’t be easy. There are a great many obstacles we must overcome if we are to survive climate change,” said Bill Gates. “But this may mean giving up some of the luxuries we love the most. We will all have to substantially reduce our travel, fuel expenditures, and switch entirely to synthetic meats. Only then do we stand a chance.”
Mr. Gates stressed how we will all have to put all of our resources together if we really want to make a difference. “I wanted a 500ft, 1 billion-dollar mega yacht, but I settled for this clunker just to show how committed I am to the cause,” said Mr. Gates as he left his onboard 5-star spa. “If we go just 15 years without cars, burning fossil fuels, and we all eat bugs we can reverse the damage to our planet.” 
Bill Gates was excited to announce the first of its kind hydrogen-powered engine onboard the Aqua. “There’s truly nothing like it. But I just don’t get why everyone else on the planet can’t switch to a state-of-the-art, prototype fuel source like me!”
Mr. Gates wanted to say more, but he was informed his prime rib had just come off the charcoal grill. When we met up with him on the 7th floor he was already eating something suspiciously not synthetic looking. “You’ll get used to the taste!” he said. “I know for me I almost think it’s the real thing!”
Once again, our interview with Bill Gates was cut short as we heard a helicopter landing on one of the yacht’s upper decks. “Oh! That must be John Kerry!” said Mr. Gates. “He’s here to talk about making the burning of fossil fuels punishable by death!”

The White House has been reaching out to social media companies including Facebook, Twitter and Alphabet Inc’s Google about clamping down on COVID misinformation and getting their help to stop it from going viral, a senior administration official said.
President Joe Biden, who has raced to curb the pandemic since taking office, has made inoculating Americans one of his top priorities and called the move “a wartime effort.” But tackling public fear about taking the vaccine has emerged as a major impediment for the administration.
Since the onset of the pandemic, calls from lawmakers asking the companies to tackle the spread of COVID misinformation on their platforms have grown.
The White House’s direct engagement with the companies to mitigate the challenge has not been previously reported. Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain has previously said the administration will try to work with Silicon Valley on the issue.
“Disinformation that causes vaccine hesitancy is going to be a huge obstacle to getting everyone vaccinated and there are no larger players in that than the social media platforms,” said the source, who has direct knowledge of the White House’s efforts.

Amazon is recruiting 26 former FBI agents in order to provide security from and smash the workers unions. The tech-giant is employing services of specialists to collect and monitor information on organized labor. Currently, the company is facing one of the largest union pushes with more than six thousand employees in the Amazon Birmingham facility voting to form a union.
Tech giants are already in the news for providing a diverse range of technology services for the military and supplying law enforcement agencies with state-of-the-art facial recognition software.
Now, Amazon, which started as an online bookseller is focusing on security by hiring twenty-six FBI agents for its global security center in Arizona.
The expansion will help in facing new challenges such as:

Counterfeiting issues
Antitrust scrutiny
Work activism pressure

The tech behemoth has hired at least two FBI agents to keep the unions out by monitoring the labor-organizing activity of its employees.
Several former FBI agents like Cindy Wetzstein and Brian Brooks who held responsible posts in the FBI now work with Amazon in its Arizona security facility for developing better security measures.
So, it will come as no surprise that as many as 26 former FBI agents and employees hold key positions in different departments like software development, security division, advisory board, human resources, and so on in the Arizona security operation facility.
While Amazon started hiring FBI agents from the year 2007-2008, it ramped up the recruitment in 2019.
Amazon is one of the largest web hosts worldwide. It has hired ex-FBI agents to prevent attacks and theft on the wide range of merchandise.
While the new hires in the security division monitor employees and track their union activities to avoid pressure from the labor activists.
According to Amazon spokesperson, hiring FBI agents is a natural process to ensure the safety of the buildings and employees during natural disasters or other events posing a threat to security and safety.
But, Amazon is focusing more on tracking the employee activities related to labor activism.
The tech-giant is employing services of specialists to collect and monitor information on organized labor.
It came to public scrutiny when Amazon had to delete job listings after backlash from the labor groups as well as the general public.
The listing included the job listing of intelligence analysis with experience in security as the preferred qualification.
While the spokesperson for the company tried to smoothen the ruffled feathers by indicating the inaccuracy in the job description. The company is still posting jobs with similar requirements for its security division.
Not just Amazon, many tech-giants are monitoring and overcoming threats from perceived opponents by employing experts.
From major financial firms, oil & gas companies, to casinos, many organizations have tapped efficient ex-FBI personnel with ties and capability to track and overcome corporate threats.
For example, Walmart has a centralized system to track employee’s activities, including their political sentiment and sympathies.
This system allowed getting information regarding protest from demonstrators and squashing it by using combined effort from the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Similarly, Amazon has fended off issues cropping due to unionization with tactics and union-busting strategies with the help of the ex-FBI employees.
It has an internal surveillance apparatus, developed by the known spy agency to detect worker’s activities.
It remains unclear how far Amazon can succeed in preventing the unionization using the tactics and strategies developed by the ex-FBI specialists.
Currently, the company is facing one of the largest union pushes with more than six thousand employees in the Amazon Birmingham facility voting to form a union.
Many workers may vote in favor of union formations due to the firm’s abusive work practices.
Many workers are fed up with the grueling work hours with no pay increase, while the company has recorded great profits.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist government launched procedures to shut down the group Generation Identity on February 13 as it attempts to tackle far-right extremism.
The National Assembly approved on February 16 a bill to fight Islamist extremism and separatism in an attempt to tackle the root causes of jihadist violence – in response to a wave of attacks that has seen more than 250 people murdered since 2015.
But Macron’s centrist government is also worried about the far-right – especially seeing as a poll by magazine L’Express and daily Le Parisien in January put populist National Rally leader Marine Le Pen at 48 percent compared to 52 percent for Macron in the 2022 presidential election race.
On February 13, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced that he had triggered procedures to close down Generation Identity (Génération Identitaire) in response to a series of anti-migrant actions. The group appears to have contravened a French law banning “incitement to discriminate against a person or group because of their origin”, Darmanin said.
He had already raised the possibility of dissolving the far-right group in late January when it deployed around thirty activists on the Spanish border, with cars bearing the message “Defend Europe” and the use of drones to police the frontier – the latest in a series of stunts Generation Identity has used to attract the French public’s attention.
‘A declaration of war’
The organisation first grabbed French headlines in 2012 with an online video titled “A declaration of war”. A group of young people filmed close-up told the camera they were the generation that had seen an “ethnic divide” and a “bankrupt” experiment in “living together” that included “imposed miscegenation”.
A month later, they engaged in direct action for the first time by occupying the roof of a mosque under construction in the central French city of Poitiers, using the building the display anti-immigrant banners. Then-president François Hollande’s government considered shutting down Generation Identity in response to this, but did not do so.
A group persisted with shock tactics over the following years – including blocking the road linking the “Calais jungle” migrant camp to the city centre in 2016 and by infiltrating one of its members into the NGO SOS Méditerranée, which helps migrants in danger of death at sea, in 2018.
But Generation Identity’s biggest publicity stunt was when it launched a vast operation in the Alps along the Italian border, an open frontier thanks to the EU’s Schengen agreement – and a major crossing point for migrants. About a hundred people were involved in the operation, setting up plastic fences, unveiling a giant banner and using two helicopters to control the border. The activists were dressed in the same blue jacket, which made them look like police officers and fuelled the impression that they were usurping the role of the French state.
This operation cost around 10 percent of Generation Identity’s budget – estimated at around €300,000 and mainly composed of donations from the group’s members and supporters.
Three members were sentenced to six months in prison for the Alpine stunt in August 2019 – specifically for masquerading as police officers.
Generation Identity’s stunts were effective in capturing public attention, wrote Stéphane François, an expert on the far-right at the École Pratique des Hauts Études in Paris, on political analysis website The Conversation: “Their goal is to get people to talk about them – and they’ve done that by inviting journalists to cover their events, as well as getting publicity through their website.”
The organisation is especially good at using filming techniques as a PR tool, French weekly paper Le Journal de Dimanche observed: “At their events they film in such a way as to portray its members as more numerous than they really are. They also strategically place female members – who are in the minority – at the front of their rallies. Generation Identity are also keen to ensure that their members are relatively well-dressed for the cameras – notably in comparison to the archetypal far-right skinheads.”
The group emerged from the ashes of a previous far-right French group, the Radical Unit (Unité Radicale) – which was shut down in 2002 after one of its members tried to assassinate then-president Jacques Chirac. Unsurprisingly, this made the group toxic in French public opinion, so several of its members set up a new organisation, the Identity Bloc (Bloc Identitaire), seeking to portray itself as less extreme by ditching its predecessor’s avowed anti-Semitism.
Generation Identity was initially the youth branch of this movement – but it slowly gained independence and prominence over the past two decades.
Dissolution ‘wouldn’t solve anything’
Despite their headline-grabbing actions and the deft manipulation of their image, Generation Identity only has around 800 activists, according to Jean-Yves Camus, an expert on the French far-right at the Fondation Jean Jaurès think-tank in Paris.
But the group has enjoyed some support from several members of National Rally, including the party’s spokesman Sébastien Chenu, who decried the imprisonment of Generation Identity activists in 2019. Le Pen, meanwhile, spoke out against Darmanin’s plan to shut down the group when he first raised the idea in January: “Darmanin shouldn’t be getting rid of organisations just because he doesn’t like them – the rule of law doesn’t work like that,” she said.
There is nevertheless a major difference between National Rally and Generation Identity. “National Rally’s ideology foregrounds the concept of the nation-state above all else, whereas that of Generation Identity centres around culture: local culture, then national culture, then European culture,” Camus told French magazine Inrocks.
Generation Identity reject the traditional French republican approach that treats the nation’s citizens as simply French, regardless of their origins. The group sees European ethnic identity and European cultural identity as inseparable. “Such ideas are spreading through the continent,” François wrote.
Fears that this ideology is becoming increasingly prevalent prompted several associations to call for Generation Identity’s dissolution. The Paris-based International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism has long urged for it to be shut down, branding the group a “private militia”. The association wrote on its website that it is “no coincidence that the Christchurch terrorist responsible for the 2019 New Zealand mosque massacre was on the list of Generation Identity’s donors”.
But Camus doubts that shutting down Generation Identity will work: “It wouldn’t resolve anything” and would “ignore the big problem as far-right is concerned – the rise of National Rally and that 48 percent for Marine Le Pen in the polls for the 2022 presidential elections”, he wrote in Charlie Hebdo.
“Generation Identity could also find the means to re-emerge in another guise, negating any advantages brought by shutting it down,” Camus concluded.

As a longtime animal lover, 18-year-old Danielle Hopton spent her free time working at a local animal shelter and helping her dad raise guide dog puppies for the blind.
But on Feb. 6, the recent high school graduate’s life was cut short when she was beaten to death, allegedly by an ex-boyfriend, say police.

The alleged domestic violence came to light on Feb. 6, when Fort Collins Police received a 911 call about an unconscious, injured woman in the parking lot of 525 East Drake Road, the department says in a release.

Detectives subsequently identified Stephen McNeil, 20, as a suspect in her killing, say police in the release.

Besides being charged in connection with Hopton’s death, CBS4 reports that online court records show that McNeil had been arrested in December and charged with a felony assault involving strangulation.
He was arrested in January and charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief.
He was released from jail on Jan. 22 on $2,650 in cash bonds, CBS4 reports. {snip}
Through further investigation, detectives learned that “a group of friends,” including Hopton, McNeil and another man, Ian Rayas, 20, of Timnath, “had been socializing that night,” say police in the release.
“Several of the people eventually drove to an apartment complex at 525 E. Drake Road and parked to hang out,” say police in the release.
“Hopton and McNeil,” the release says, “got out of the vehicle to talk and the assault occurred. McNeil left the scene, and a member of the group called 911.”
Rayas, who police allege falsely denied knowing what happened, was booked into the Larimer County Jail on felony charges of attempt to influence a public servant and accessory to a crime.

A British has blocked efforts by Priti Patel’s Home Office to deport a double rapist from Somalia on grounds that he would not receive proper mental healthcare in his native country.
The 49-year-old migrant claimed asylum in Britain after arriving in the country in 2004, however, the Home Office sought to deport the man after he was convicted of eight criminal offences over the course of six years, including the rape of two women.
The Somali national was sentenced to a meagre seven years in prison for rape at knifepoint before being put in immigration detention.
According to the Daily Mail, an immigration tribunal judgment heard: “While at HMP Stafford he was not able always to behave appropriately. On several occasions after January 2017 he was placed in segregation, his attitude and behaviour being aggressive and unacceptable.”
The migrant was also deemed to pose a “high risk of serious harm” to the British public — yet the British judiciary blocked the Home Office twice from deporting him citing mental health issues which they argued would not be adequately addressed in Somalia.
In the first hearing an immigration judge blocked his deportation, saying that mental healthcare in Somalia was “extremely poor” and adding that “those with mental health issues, particularly those who are aggressive, were often stigmatised, considered ‘possessed’, and subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment within both society and families, including stoning and chaining.”

After “normalization” throughout the Gulf, jews have decided that it is time to step up their game and launch a transnational jewish supremacist organization.

There’s a lot of naked emperors running around the United States, but our mendacious propaganda outlets are the most visibly nude royalty of them all. Despite a clear majority of the public believing that “Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations“, this has triggered no introspection from the parties responsible for eroding their own public trust. Believe me, I looked, only Matt Taibbi dared to place the blame squarely where it belongs. Predictably enough the news outlets treat widespread distrust as another failing of the public that requires remedial training to correct. In fact, if one were to put their finger on the ugliest trend in modern mass media and journalism it’s the tendency towards preachiness, editorialization, and correctitude as a default stance.
Rather than dispassionately and objectively report the news, journalists assume the tone of a patronizing schoolmarm, ever vigilant to preemptively “fact-check” and contextualize their stories lest the credulous buffoons in the audience get the wrong idea. Readers and viewers are not treated as adults capable of forming their own independent conclusions, they are lectured and harangued as if their own free thought was a problem to be aggressively managed. When covering politics and Covid 19 the news media constructs enormous guard-rails around the content of individual stories, putting themselves into the role of gatekeeper and overseer. This is not the traditional role of the news, which is ostensibly about providing accurate information and covering topics of interest to the public. Our media instead insults our own intelligence and openly discusses how best to “educate” us.
The blatant hypocrisy of media both in terms of coverage and tone is happening on a timetable too contracted for even our short attention spans to overlook. You cannot describe flaming riots as “mostly peaceful protests” for months on end and then suddenly decide a remarkably similar event at the US capitol constitutes a “terroristic and seditious attempted coup” without giving your entire audience whiplash. Nor can you use coded speech to conceal the ethnicity of black criminals while shrieking endlessly about the threat of “white supremacy” to anyone willing to listen. The media simultaneously claimed that Russian election interference was the gravest threat to American democracy and also that the US election of Joe Biden happened without the slightest blemish of voter fraud.
Not only does the news media frequently contradict itself on a daily basis, it also invents imaginary threats whole-cloth and then forgets about their existence a week later. Everything from weapons-of-mass-destruction in Iraq to a military coup/nuclear holocaust by Donald Trump has been floated out into the information echo-system by news media outlets desperately pretending not to be tabloid muckrakers. In the early 2000s there was insane hysteria about Muslim terror, now, in 2021, the hypervigilance is directed towards white men that may have voted for Donald Trump and might think they’re being lied to by the people who claim they are white supremacist terrorists.
 What we have here is a system that manufactures its own illegitimacy and then prosecutes you for noticing it. 
The forces of neoliberal capitalism have accelerated a trend towards marketing news as consumptive entertainment that explicitly agrees with your own ideology. It’s more efficient to specialize in one particular demographic instead of trying to market to a broad audience. As monopolistic technocracies continue to ideologically purge dissenting views from social media, the Twitter echochambers frequented by the modern American journalist get thicker walls. From this we arrive at a radicalized cloister unpossessed of the slightest self-awareness, leading to progressively more unhinged ideas totally out of step with the general public, like Kevin Roose suggesting that Joe Biden should appoint a “reality czar”. Normal people of relatively modest intelligence would balk at something with such obvious overtures to “The Ministry of Truth”, but when the Washington Post is out there trying to retroactively edit their own unfavorable coverage of a sitting US vice-president we have already crossed that particular Orwellian Rubicon. This is of course is to say nothing of the constant memory-holing of the endlessly shifting recommendations of how best to prevent the spread of Covid-19, which are not at all based in hard science and evolve so rapidly that even my liberal relatives have given up on abiding by them.
We also have to contend with the constant “fact-checking” by news agencies and social media apps preemptively censoring, deleting, offering correction, and putting advisory labels on posts by their own user base. Notice that the social media platform most popular with journalists also features the most patronizing management of its customers. To unashamedly use Twitter requires a self-abasement so thorough such a groveling toady simply can’t help but belittle the public at large. American journalists have themselves become furtive, obsequious rat-creatures plugged into a neurotic online network of sycophants and cowards.
Unfortunately, the post-modern condition means that despite losing all legitimacy, transforming the news into a consumable product conforming to the ideological tastes of a narrow band of influencers and corporations will remain profitable so long as it entertains. In my own life, I personally saw this play out during the closure of Pioneer Community Hospital. A medical facility that had been saving lives and providing jobs since the 1960s went under without so much as a peep from the national media. This should be a norm-breaking event, something to provoke outrage in an era when lack of access to healthcare is a major political issue. It created a local crisis so immediate I actually took up a part-time job working EMS in the county despite having moved on to full-time work for an online media business. This of course is what put Stuart, Virginia into international headlines. Not that an American hospital was shuttered and local EMS was straining to keep up, but that one of the men pitching in to help was on a “racist podcast”. “Racism” is what drives clicks, not informing the public on systemic problems that affect their very life expectancy, but pure sensationalism and manufactured outrage by a hidebound clique of Extremely Online lickspittles.
The saddest truth is that the transformation of the “news” into permanent yellow journalism doesn’t mean it goes away anytime soon. We’re going to see lurid headlines, blatant propaganda, and increasingly heavy-handed attempts to control “disinformation” by the biggest propagators of disinformation until the last American flag finally rots off the last rusting flagpole in this country.
Journalism’s decline just mirrors the general decline of America itself.

During the early days of the right-wing dissident political revival in America some felt that presentation was extremely important. These commentators looked at the rising success of Donald Trump’s “populism” and inferred that “good optics” (a term stolen from corporate capitalism) was the path to victory. The problem with this assumption is misattributing success to the wrong factors is a sure recipe for future disaster. In the case of Trump in particular, the “success” has proven to be incredibly dubious in the first place. I’m also being very generous here, it’s much more likely that all the crowing about “good optics” was from bad actors behaving maliciously and does NOT represent an actual strategy.
There were two assumptions made on the basis of optics:
    1. Look like a mature, respectable individual so the media and state don’t treat you as a costumed Nazi.
    2. Appeal to the average normal American by cultivating a more “professional” and patriotic appearance.
On point 1, we can declare any attempt to change the media or state perceptions of dissident political figures a complete and utter failure. The news continues to call literally any rightwing male a “white supremacist”, even if that white male happens to be a black Cuban leader. The default setting of the propaganda networks is to scream “NAZI” at anyone outside the neo-liberal paradigm and a business suit doesn’t work as a cloaking device to make you invisible to the secret police either. “Ricky Vaughn”, the originator of the “wignat” meme is facing Federal charges along with a slew of attendees to the Capitol protest. Commentators like Nicholas J Fuentes that were extolling the virtues of Trump’s “optics” just prior to the January 6th rally are now cowering on Twitter and disavowing any participation in the actual storming of the Capitol Building. “Good optics” ended with a shirtless man in a Viking helmet becoming the public face of MAGA and stop-the-steal in the international media. This is absolutely more ridiculous than ANYTHING that happened during the 2017 alt-right activist rallies.
“At least it wasn’t a goon march.”
“Qanon Shaman” and other MAGA cultists utterly demolished the second idea under an avalanche of horrible garish American anti-aesthetics. Clearly the “average normal American” doesn’t exist anymore and he doesn’t have a “Sunday best” outfit in his closet either. There are precious few “normal Americans” left, and the weird little awkward manlets on the internet trying to appeal to them haven’t found any either. The final collapse of Trumpism was packed to the gills with shabbily dressed Boomers dancing to Rage Against the Machine and following a leader not exactly known for his cool, clean-cut professionalism. This is a vulgar, nasty, collapsing nation full of enraged rabble, there is simply no one left to sell on a pitch of “respectability”. Compared to the antics I saw during the last months of Trump, dudes dressed in Superman onesies with Swastika armbands banging rubber chickens on trashcan lids would’ve been “better optics” than those deranged Magatards milling about like confused Saturday morning Costco shoppers. At least the Super-Nazis would’ve been making some kind of performance art statement about the sad condition of American democracy.
Donald Trump did not take power because of his “good optics” either, he took power because a net worth of 3 billion dollars buys you an awfully big war-chest for campaign spending and it goes a long way with frustrated, desperate Americans looking to give the system the middle finger. If anything, it was Trump’s bad optics that resonated with people, not his business suits or the red, white and blue.

From a conceptual point of view, moderating your statements and calibrating your physical appearance to appeal to pre-existing tastes is a mind-numbingly stupid gambit anyhow. Your job as a political dissident to is to break down existing norms and convert people to radicalism, not to sell out to the status quo. If confronting people about the realities of Jewish power makes them uncomfortable, too fuckin’ bad for them. The “American Nationalism” crowd ultimately retreated on hard questions while simultaneously waving around the American flag like a security blanket, and all they got for it was Federal arrests stacked on top of a complete political defeat. I haven’t forgotten that these were the exact same individuals accusing more radical right-wingers of being “Feds” either nor is that irony lost on me. All of the hiding under Trump’s coat-tails didn’t work either though, and at the end of the day MAGA/Stop-The-Steal/Good Optics was a dead-end that has currently revived far more interest in pursuing programs to stop “domestic terrorism” than anything so-called “wignats” have ever been responsible for.
The logic of “good optics” lead people to embrace deradicalization rhetoric that lulled them into a false sense of security so overwhelming a good number of them walked into the biggest trap ever set for political dissidents. One would be very tempted to think this was an intentional conspiracy to entrap gullible patsies by a collection of cynical grifters taking money from shadowy figures to do it. 
I want everyone to learn from this object lesson though. We are dissidents, we are radicals. We must acknowledge who we are and that the state is desperate to throw us in cages and make us into public examples to anyone else that dares to object to the current neoliberal paradigm. There are no short-cuts, no easy ways out. The target is already on our backs and it isn’t going anywhere. By being serious minded the “theatrical revolutionaries” dressed as goons are quickly weeded out, making “optics” a superfluous concern in the first place. We must also not hesitate to criticize “thought leaders” that are half-hearted cowardly charlatans. Ask yourself this, would a leftwing radical tolerate a mealy-mouthed Tucker Carlson? The rightwing cannot do incrementalism, it has been a losing strategy for 150 years.
“Optics” is over, this is a deadly serious struggle, not a high-school dance.
