The Equality Court found on Thursday lobby group AfriForum had failed to prove the lyrics in Kill/Kiss the Boer and Bizani iFire-Brigade could reasonably be construed to demonstrate a clear intention to harm or incite harm or propagate hatred.
This was the judgment handed down by Judge Edwin Molahlehi as he dismissed AfriForum’s application to declare as hate speech the two songs.
“I find that AfriForum has failed to make out a case that the lyrics in the song constitute hate speech. The court’s order dismisses the argument that the songs, Kill/Kiss the Boer and Bizani iFire-Brigade, constitute hate speech, and the applicant [AfriForum] should pay costs.”
In yet another blow to the lobby group, Molahlehi found Ernst Roets, its head of policy and action, did not meet the standards of being an expert witness as he had purportedly been on the applicant’s legal team.
The judge said he found Roets’ testimony to have been based on hearsay or circumstantial evidence.
AfriForum also sought to have the respondents, EFF leader Julius Malema and MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, pay R500 000 to a charity organisation, and the pair apologise for singing the songs.
The judgment was well received by EFF treasurer-general Omphile Maotwe and deputy secretary-general Poppy Mailola who started celebrating as soon as the judgment was handed down.
Addressing the media, Maotwe described the judgment as being “sober”, saying “the ruling puts to bed the case by the racists, which sought to erase the cultural element of the liberation struggle”.
“The court reaffirmed the submission by the commander-in-chief [CIC], Julius Malema, that liberation songs should not be interpreted literally, but recognised as a critique of a system of oppression.
“The view of CIC Julius Malema that liberation songs sought to agitate people during the struggle against the apartheid system and today agitate society against a system that benefits white men. Struggle in South Africa has fallen flat on its face.”
AfriForum said it would appeal the verdict.
Roets added “this ruling creates a very dangerous precedent. The disturbing message sent with this judgment is that encouraging the gruesome murder of a certain group based on their identity is acceptable and carries no consequences”.
“AfriForum constantly works with the victims of farm attacks, as well as the families of those killed in these gruesome crimes.
“We understand the pain and trauma these victims and survivors have to live with. We are, therefore, deeply disappointed with today’s verdict. There is no place in society for songs that encourage the killing of people based on their identity.
“Today’s ruling proved how the political order in South Africa is becoming radicalised, especially against minorities.
“A political order where the incitement and romanticisation of violence against minorities is sanctioned by the judiciary is not a free, democratic order, but an oppressive order.
“This case once again confirms that AfriForum must now focus its attention on strengthening and intensifying our safety structures and security training,” Roets said.

Israel’s President Isaac Herzog is scheduled to travel to Basel in Switzerland on Monday to join celebrations marking the 125th anniversary of the First Zionst Congress and to sign countries’ national science foundations.
“The heart of this visit is a historic milestone: The 125th anniversary of the First Zionist Congress in Basel, which was a formative event for the Jewish People and for humanity at large,” stated Herzog ahead of the official visit. “Zionism is the ideal combination of Judaism’s deepest roots with groundbreaking innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.”
“Switzerland is an important country on a global level, as reflected both in international organizations, including the Red Cross, and on the European diplomatic stage,” he remarked.
The celebrations which started on Sunday to mark the 125th anniversary of the First  Zionst Congress in Basel convened by Theodor Herzla on August 29 in 1897 is expected to bring together 1400 Jewish leaders, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists from all over the world. The events organized by the World Zionist Organization will kick off at the Stadtcasino Hall in Basel, where 208 delegates gathered at the First Zionist Congress to discuss the establishment of a Jewish state.
Herzog is expected to give a key note speech speak alongside the President of the Basel -Stadt Canton Beat Jans, the former President of Switzerland and the current Minister of Economy, Guy Parmelin, and the Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, Yaakov Hagoel.
“Today’s State of Israel is the fulfillment of Herzl’s vision in Basel,” said Hagoel. “Herzl dreamed and also hoped that the Jewish home would be a light to the Gentiles and a house from which light would emanate to the nations of the world.”
One of the events in Basel will be the restoration of the historical photo of Herzl, who was photographed on the railing of the balcony of the Three Kings Hotel in Basel during the first Zionist Congress.
Ahead of the anniversary, the Swiss government allocated $5.9 million to deploy thousands of police personnel and soldiers to help secure the events following warnings about pro-Palestinian demonstrations. As part of the preparations, the Rhine River will be shut to ship traffic and the airspace will be closed for the duration of the congress.
During the visit, Herzog will meet with Swiss President Ignazio Cassis and other senior government officials, and Swiss-Jewish community representatives. Herzog and Cassis are expected to sign a “groundbreaking” agreement between the Israeli and Swiss national science foundations.
“During my visit, I shall meet President Cassis and discuss important diplomatic, security, and economic issues with him, including the strengthening of our partnership in the fields of scientific and technological R&D,” Herzog said.
As part of the visit, the First Lady of Switzerland, Dr. Paola Rodoni Cassis will host First Lady of Israel Michal Herzog, to visit the Einstein House, the former home of the Jewish scientist Albert Einstein, which has been turned into a museum.

In yet another sign that the covid vaccination agenda of globalist institutions did not do quite as well as they had originally hoped, the Rockefeller Foundation has revealed that it (along with other non-profits) has been pumping millions of dollars into a behavioral science project meant to figure out why large groups of people around the world refuse to take the jab.
The “Mercury Project” is a collective of behavioral scientists formed by the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), a non-profit group which receives considerable funding from globalist organizations and governments.  The stated goals of the project are rather non-specific, using ambiguous language and mission statements.  However, the root intentions appear to be focused on using behavioral psychology and mass psychology elements to understand the global resistance to the recent covid compliance efforts.
Mercury groups will be deployed in multiple nations and regions and will study vaccine refusal and the medical “disinformation” that leads to it.  They are operating with the intent to tailor vaccination narratives to fit different ethnic and political backgrounds, looking for the key to the gates of each cultural kingdom and convincing them to take the jab.
The Rockefeller Foundation and the SSRC note:
“Following the characterization of inaccurate health information by the U.S. Surgeon General as an “urgent threat,” and by the World Health Organization as an “infodemic,” the SSRC issued a call for proposals to counter the growing global threats posed by public health mis- and disinformation and low Covid-19 vaccination rates, and received nearly 200 submissions from around the world.
…With Covid-19 prevalent and rapidly evolving everywhere, there is a pressing need to identify interventions with the potential to increase vaccination take-up.”
The SSRC and the Mercury Project are not only receiving funding from foundations, but also government based institutions.  In June of 2022 the Mercury Project received another $20 million from the National Science Foundation, which claims to be an “independent” agency of the United States government.  Meaning, fabricating effective covid propaganda is becoming a money train for the small groups of behavioral researchers and psychologists that jump onboard.
The purpose of the NSF partnership with the Mercury Project is outlined on the SSRC website:
“This innovative partnership will support research teams seeking to evaluate online or offline interventions to increase Covid-19 vaccination demand and other positive health behaviors, including by targeting the producers and/or consumers of inaccurate health information and/or by increasing confidence in reliable health information.”
The Mercury Project lists these bullet points as their focus:
“Funded projects will provide evidence about what works–and doesn’t–in specific places and for specific groups to increase Covid-19 vaccination take-up, including what is feasible on the ground and has the potential to be cost-effective at scale. Each of the 12 teams will have access to findings from the other teams while exploring interventions including, but not limited to:
Conducting literacy training for secondary school students in partnership with local authorities to help students identify Covid-19 vaccine misinformation.  
Equipping trusted messengers with communication strategies to increase Covid-19 vaccination demand.
Using social networks to share tailored, community-developed messaging to increase Covid-19 vaccination demand.”
In other words, their focus is propaganda, propaganda and propaganda.  The very basis of the existence of the Mercury Project presupposes that individuals cannot be trusted to make up their own minds about the information they are exposed to, and that they must be molded to accept the mainstream narrative.  It also presupposes that mainstream or establishment information is always trustworthy and unbiased.
The widespread non-compliance against covid vaccination mandates despite extensive government pressure is perhaps one of the most underappreciated events of the past century.  It is likely the reason why political elites and the corporate media went from a non-stop fear campaign against the public to almost no mention of covid within a matter of weeks.  It was as if the populace was being put through two years of waterboarding and then one day the torture simply stopped without explanation.
If vaccine passport laws had been implemented through western nations on the scale that governments and globalists were demanding, then the last vestiges of personal freedom would now be erased permanently.  All individual rights would become privileges granted by authorities and contingent on your submission to whatever covid booster shots or medical procedures happen to be in vogue at the time.  Think about it:  If they had gotten what they wanted, the west would look exactly like China does right now, or worse, with no economic participation without an up-to-date covid pass.
And, the threat still lingers.  Why the Mercury Project feels the need to compose vaccine propaganda for a virus with a mere 0.23% median Infection Fatality Rate is not explained.  And, if vaccination numbers from agencies like the CDC are accurate, then the population has already achieved herd immunity anyway (perhaps their numbers are not accurate?).  Why are globalist groups so obsessed with 100% vaccination for covid?  This is never explained.
They will say it’s all about saving lives, but if only 0.23% of people on average are at risk regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not, then public health is not really a believable explanation.  It would seem that the Mercury Project’s purpose is more about influencing people to vaccinate despite the science rather than in the name of science.

Cape Town – Judgment was handed down in the Equality Court, sitting at the Johannesburg High Court, on Thursday in the ’Dubul’ ibhunu’, translated as “Shoot the boer” or “Kill the boer”, case involving Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

This matter was brought before the court as hate speech by AfriForum.
The lobby group argued that the song, which can be heard at many EFF rallies, incites violence and fuels farm murders. They wanted Malema and Ndlozi to apologise and pay R500 000 damages.
Previously, Malema stated the party could not afford the exorbitant sum of money requested by AfriForum and further dismissed the claims of inciting violence.

What could possibly be violent about a literally genocidal chant that serves as a call to violent action? Especially when coming out of the mouths of the explicitly anti-White “Economic Freedom Fighters,” political party.

Judge Edwin Molahlehi said he has no reason to reject the evidence given by Malema who testified earlier this year and explained the context and history of such struggle songs.
He further dismissed expert witnesses’ evidence brought before the court to testify by AfriForum.
Molahlehi dismissed the case against the EFF with costs.

Outside the courthouse these anti-White continued to chant “Kill the Boer.” And why not, what with it being legally declared to be not hate speech.

what will happen if ‘college’ loans are forgiven? nothing. it will provide help for some feckless people, which will prove temporary. but in the end nothing will change because the entire bogus system remains in place. feds aka central-banking jews printing money is the basis of it, the actual problem of which college loans are but a subset. feds backing all college loans is what allows colleges to raise prices faster than virtually every other sector. suckers called students sign up for marxist lies they get to pay for with money they dont ever think about paying back. it’s a sick game.  you’re better to stay completely out of it, just focus on earning money and investing it so YOU actually move ahead. not the college teaching lies and charging high prices to hear them.
After the debt is forgiven, it is very important that the entire University cabal be taken down. There should no loans given by the government. All further education loans should be completely private, so that banks have to know they will get their money back, which will ensure people won’t be getting into debt with garbage degrees. IT also means universities will have to be competitive with their pricing.

DC Comics didn’t send out their royalty checks to writers and artists. DC has never missed a royalty payment since they got bought up by Warner Brothers. The only reason they wouldn’t be sending out money is if there was no money to send.
I have it on very good authority that the royalties were finally paid, but they were paid uncharacteristically late. That’s a problem when large corporations are involved, because it means that the scheduled routine has been intentionally altered, most likely because the finance department is shuttling dwindling resources around from one department to another as needed.

Berletic: This is actually the most likely scenario – using Taiwan as a proxy against the rest of China to exhaust it politically, economically, and militarily. The US is indeed conducting a similar proxy conflict against Russia through Ukraine. Many aspects of US interference in regards to Taiwan including political and military support, mirror what preceded the conflict now raging in Ukraine. The US deliberately picked a red line to Russia in regards to Ukraine and is now doing the same to China in regards to Taiwan. The US demonstrably doesn’t care about Taiwan’s future in any sense and has already begun preparing itself in terms of semiconductor production for a disruption in Taiwan Washington itself is attempting to create. The US will do everything in its power to realize this provocation by crossing red lines for China it knows cannot be ignored.
GLOBAL TIMES: Is there a trend that Washington is shifting from strategic ambiguity toward Taiwan to strategic clarity? Is this an adventurous move?
Berletic: The shift in Washington is one born out of desperation rather than adventurism. The US is out of time. China’s economic and military rise means that as each year goes by the US is less and less able to hold any sort of advantage over China should it provoke a conflict either directly or by proxy.
Empires are increasingly prone to fighting proxy wars in their final stages, because they simply do not possess the military might that was required to establish the empire in the first place. And they avoid direct confrontation for fear that they will be defeated; it’s much easier to spin and create separation from a proxy defeat than from a direct one. This foreign policy on the part of the empire’s foreign rulers is absolutely pro forma; history suggests that one should expect a domestic crackdown on regime critics to accompany the proxy wars that will almost certainly end in defeat.

Frankly, most of you appear to be functionally retarded where economics are concerned. So, I will type very slowly in order that a few of you might be able to follow along.
Most money is debt and it comes from nowhere. It is not printed by the government, it is literally created from nothing when a loan is taken out. This is inflationary. When a loan is cancelled, forgiven, or written off, the debt literally vanishes. This is deflationary, since it reduces the amount of money in the economy.
If the loan is paid off, either by the debtor or by a third party, then no money leaves or enters the system. It is a neutral action. If interest is paid on the loan, this is mildly inflationary but trivial at current interest rates.
That’s literally how debt money works, and if you don’t understand why L.1 is bigger and more important than the M1 money supply, then please stop sharing your opinion on the subject of student loans because you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

Day by day, spokespersons of both parties, justify this destruction in their meaningless, impotent rhetoric on diversionary issues such as cultural Marxism and transgenderism, or the draconian “war on drugs.” They are now but factions in the one true political party in America — the Incumbent Party. Despite all posturing and pretense, their only real dispute concerns whose clients will get the loot. . . and whose the bill.
Trump, in his arrogantly and hubristic fashion, has revealed this truth. And they hate him for it.
Capitol Hill has become one vast congressional clip-joint, where members “service” their constituents the way a second-story man “services” a luxury condo. This lies at the root of every economic and societal ill plaguing the country — Wall Street bailouts, massive foreign and domestic debt, the infrastructure scam of cronyism and elite special interests, Pentagon plunder and the military-security-industrial complex— the list could go on and on.
Because of this thievery, your income is 60 percent of what it should be. The other 40 percent is forcibly taken by politicians and given to tax-consuming special interests. The parasitical profiteers return some of the ill-gotten gains to their benefactors in the form of campaign contributions, gifts or fees.
Here is how the ruse works in detail: Politicians allocate (steal) taxpayer funds for programs under the guise of alleviating the plight of the poor, the homeless, the sick, the elderly and the unemployed, and serving the “public interest” or “national security.” Yet it is not the mother’s milk of human kindness and compassion which lubricates the intricate gears of political machinery. It is the snake oil of expediency.
The bureaucrats who administer this flim-flam provide taxpayer funds to political advocacy groups through massive grants and contracts, ostensibly intended to fulfill program objectives. However, much of the money received by the special interests is used to lobby, campaign and organize support for the mandarins to manage, additional funding for existing programs, and the re-election of their shills who favor the appropriations which play politics with human misery.
Farcical public hearings are staged to persuade the complacent and compliant news media that greater spending is essential to deal with these pressing problems. Incumbents then appropriate more funds for existing malevolence and initiate new mischief through legislative legerdemain.
In turn, they mass their campaign contributions from clients and franking privileges for their re-election efforts. The bureaucracy awards more pilfered taxpayers’ funds to the special interests, and the process begins all over again.
The losers are the hapless taxpayers who pay for this sophisticated protection racket and the truly unfortunate members of society who receive only a fraction of the promised benefits of the programs set up in their names.
The winners are those tax-consuming bunko artists and wirepullers who gorge themselves at the public trough. The looted tax monies are siphoned off by special interests to promote their schemes, by public employees who want to finance the expansion of their petty bureaucratic empires, and by grasping politicians who want hard cash for re-election kitties and for conversion to their own personal use

The survey of 1,335 adults was conducted earlier this month by New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics. The vast majority of those following the issue said they believe that the laptop is real, while only 11 percent still believe it was created by Russia.
The Washington Post and The New York Times recently confirmed that the laptop and contents found on it are, in fact, authentic, after initially pooh-poohing the idea the device belonged to the president’s son. In October 2020, the New York Post broke the story that Hunter Biden had abandoned the Apple computer at a Wilmington, Del., repair shop. The newspaper exposed emails from the hard drive indicating the Biden family may have participated in illicit business deals in Ukraine, China, and other countries. Social media censored the story, denying voters critical information on the eve of the election.
Among those following the topic, almost three-quarters (74 percent) believe that the FBI and Intelligence Community deliberately misled the public—and voters—when they claimed the laptop was “disinformation” and part of a Kremlin plot to hurt Biden’s candidacy.
On Oct. 19, 2020, more than 50 former U.S. intelligence officials, including CIA Director John Brennan, signed a public letter claiming the material published by the Post from Hunter’s hard drive “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” although none of them had seen it. Joe Biden cited their letter in the presidential debates to deflect questions about the laptop.
“Terming the laptop ‘disinformation’ by the FBI, Intelligence Community, Congress, and the Biden campaign, along with Big Tech, impacted voters,” said Technometrica President Raghavan Mayur, who’s been recognized as the most accurate pollster in recent presidential elections. “A significant majority—78 percent—believe that access to the correct information could have been critical to their decision at the polls.”
In fact, 47 percent said that knowing before the election that the laptop contents were real and not “disinformation” would have changed their voting decision—including more than two-thirds (71 percent) of Democrats.
Almost 8 of 10 respondents said that a truthful interpretation of the laptop would have likely changed the election’s outcome more in favor of Trump.
The poll also found that more than half—51 percent—give the media failing grades (D or F) for their coverage of the topic of the laptop.
Also, 81 percent of Americans said they want the attorney general to appoint an independent special counsel to investigate possibly incriminating email and other evidence contained on Hunter Biden’s laptop. Federal investigators in Delaware have been investigating Hunter for possible money laundering, tax fraud, and other alleged crimes, but the probe has dragged on for years, and the FBI has yet to issue a warrant to search his home for evidence.
The Senate Judiciary Committee revealed last month that FBI whistleblowers recently came forward to expose a “scheme” by FBI honchos in Washington to throttle the investigation of Hunter Biden in the run-up to the 2020 election by claiming that allegations of Biden influence-peddling in Ukraine was “Russian disinformation.”
Former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe recently said there is growing evidence the FBI politically interfered in both the 2016 and 2020 elections while claiming they were worried about Russian interference.
“The names have changed, but the allegations are the same, that these FBI agents were attempting to influence the outcome of the 2020 election by suppressing derogatory information about Hunter Biden and potentially Joe Biden,” Ratclifffe said.
“It is the FBI that is the primary domestic authority for investigating and leading to the prosecution of election influence and election interference. It’s really a problem when the agency that is responsible for investigating those things is engaged in those things.”
Ratcliffe in late October 2020 issued a forceful denial against the prevailing spin about “disinformation” after prominent Democrat leader Adam Schiff of the House Intelligence Committee proclaimed the Hunter Biden laptop story was “a smear on Joe Biden [that] comes from the Kremlin.”
“I very clearly came out and said, ‘Look, Adam Schiff is making this information up. There is no Russian disinformation involved here. It is Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the investigation is real,’ “ he said. “And that has proven to be true.”

White Afrikaners — descendants of 17th-century Dutch colonisers — bought up 8,000 hectares (19,000 acres) of land on the banks of the Orange River, in the sparsely populated Karoo region.
Using an autonomous status under the post-apartheid constitution, they created a privately-owned town which has so far admitted only white inhabitants.
Today, Orania’s population has surged almost 10-fold, reaching around 2,500, and the economy is booming.
Old Cape Dutch-style houses hobnob with modern townhouses, separated by low or no walls, but kempt gardens. Children ride bicycles and adults jog freely on the clean streets.
Small orange-white-and-blue flags — the South African colours under apartheid — flutter in the afternoon wind at construction sites.
– ‘Not racist’ –
Sensitive to accusations of racism, residents insist they are not apartheid-era nostalgics but a community pursuing “freedom with responsibility”.
This means, in their view, a community that manages its own affairs, away from the crime, power cuts, dysfunctional local governance and other problems plaguing South Africa today.
“People see Orania and maybe see there are no black workers… and their first idea is ‘wow these guys must be racist’, that’s exactly not the case,” said Wynand Boshoff, 52, a pioneer resident. defensive, weak, as always

But Orania says it has broken with colonial- and apartheid-era labour practices.

Orania’s population has grown by up to 17 percent annually in recent years, and in 2021 new business creations were up by a quarter, said Strydom. Tourism is one of the main business activities, attracting an average 10,000 visitors annually.
“Suddenly other communities are saying ‘how can we learn from you?’,” he said.
When AFP journalists were in Orania recently, some traditional royal emissaries from the Xhosa and Tswana ethnic groups were in town on a “diplomatic” visit.

“It was important for me to go… Whether right or wrong, there is a success story in there somewhere,” said Gaboilelwe Moroka, 40-year-old chief of the Barolong Boo Seleka, part of Tswana ethnic group in neighbouring Free State province.
“It’s unfortunate these things are overly politicised,” she said.
Boshoff, the grandson of the architect of apartheid Hendrik Verwoerd, argued that Afrikaners created Orania because they needed a place to call home.
“Every African tribe or clan has a place of its own which they use as a reference point,” said Boshoff, who is also a right-wing lawmaker in the national parliament.
Orania has “become part of the South African landscape”, he said, after delivering a Sunday morning sermon at a Dutch Reformed church.
– Afrikaner world –
Private towns such as Orania are not unusual, said municipality governance expert Sandile Swana.
“You are going to see more of these,” said Swana.
“The only difference with Orania is that they have chosen their own ethnic background and culture” as a pre-condition.
Another Afrikaner-only town, Kleinfontein, lies some 30 kilometres (18 miles) outside the capital of the “Rainbow Nation”, Pretoria.
South Africa’s first black president, Nelson Mandela, strove relentlessly to reconcile the deeply divided country.

He visited Orania in 1995 and had tea with Verwoerd’s widow. A white teaset they drank from is among the memorabilia neatly arranged in an unassuming white house where Betsie Verwoerd spent her last years.
Outside the church, Ranci Pizer, a 58-year-old former government worker who relocated to Orania from Pretoria in December, said she enjoyed having more social interaction with neighbours on the streets.
“It’s a community where I can express myself in my own culture,” she said.
A short drive up a hill is a collection of statues donated by people who no longer wanted anything to do with Afrikaner history after the fall of apartheid.
“Afrikaner history gets almost criminalised,” said Joost.

Orania – Most of South Africa is battling endless power cuts, but a remote whites-only farming town in the country’s sun-drenched centre is close to producing enough electricity to be self-sufficient.

Built after the end of apartheid along the Orange River on 8 000 hectares of land acquired by white Afrikaner nationalists, Orania manages its affairs autonomously from the central government.
At the end of a gravel track outside the 31-year-old town, a diamond mesh gate opens onto hundreds of photovoltaic panels mounted in rows.
In a country struggling to provide basic services, the small settlement of 2 500 people is the only town nationwide close to reaching energy supply autonomy and freeing itself from the failing national power grid.

“The solar farm is quite a huge game changer for us. It brings energy sustainability to the town,” said Gawie Snyman, 43, who manages the municipality.

Africa’s most developed economy has in recent years been plagued by epileptic power supply clever, i like it, which many blame on the ageing coal-fired plants operated by the state-owned energy giant Eskom. or niggers. could also be nigcompetent niggers.
After weeks of some of the worst blackouts in recent years, President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday announced energy reforms, urging South Africans to “join in a massive rollout of rooftop solar” and sell excess to the grid.
Orania, a town some 620 km south-west of Johannesburg, was already well on its way to becoming totally energy independent in just several years’ time.

Solar independence
Established in 1991 after the abolition of the racial laws, Orania is protected under South Africa’s constitution, which ensures the right to self-determination.
The town was developed on land acquired by a group of Afrikaner families, led by the son-in-law of Hendrik Verwoerd, the architect of apartheid.

It was set up to preserve the “culture” of the Afrikaners — descendants of the Dutch and French-Huguenot Protestant settlers who came to South Africa in the 17th century.
Prospective residents of Orania submit an application, get vetted and the default requirement is one has to be Afrikaner.

Town spokesman Joost Strydom, 28, said the town in the Karoo region now aimed to make the best of year-round sunshine in order to enjoy “total electricity independence”.

With funding from the municipality and private investors, Orania started building its R10.5 million solar farm in June last year.
Just 12 months later, the town was generating 841 KW of electricity per hour — almost enough to power half the town and surrounding farms growing corn, wheat and nuts, local authorities say.
“It was the basic idea of self-sufficiency that drove us towards doing this,” said Francois Joubert, the engineer who designed what has become known as the “Orasol” plant.

Standing next to a row of solar panels, the 69-year-old in a grey flat cap said Eskom had “failed dismally” to provide the town with the necessary power.
“You can’t rely on anybody to supply you with basic ingredients to live here in the Karoo,” he said.
“We had to do that ourselves, we had to work it out… And it’s working for us.”

A few kilometres from the solar plant, Joubert’s wife Annatjie watched as a mechanical tree shaker released pecan nuts onto a red net during early morning harvesting on her farm.
The 66-year-old former IT specialist said a stable power supply was crucial for her orchard to flourish.

When Eskom rations electricity to prevent the grid from collapsing, her trees go thirsty as she can’t pump water from the river, she explained.
Yet “it’s vital to complete your irrigation cycles especially with pecans nuts because they use a lot of water,” she said.
The new solar plant would allow her to do just that, she added.

As the world grapples with a food crisis sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, “we need to produce as much as possible of our own food, and therefore we need water… we need electricity,” her husband said.
The town was proud to be playing its part through producing clean energy, said the engineer.

“We are very glad that we can assist the green idea,” he said.

Whites solve problems, blacks create problem. The trick is not allowing blacks — or jews forcing them on us — to make their problems our problems, because they’re not. Strydom is 27: an energetic and articulate young man who is prepared to spend hours with Daily Maverick over the course of two days, despite – or perhaps because of – his open distrust of media coverage of the town he calls home.
On the phone as we drove into Orania, Strydom warned us that ordinary residents were unlikely to be willing to talk to us. He said they had been burnt too many times. Indeed, there proved to be an almost palpable tension from locals in response to our presence. When two young women realised they were within shot of our camera, they jumped up immediately and scrambled to hide around a corner.
Strydom says that in one single week in 2019, five separate TV crews were shooting in Orania. To live under this kind of scrutiny must be just one of the many undesirable features of life in the town, but Strydom shrugs it off.
“A bit of stress is good for us,” he says.
It’s a mantra he will repeat in various ways during our time together. Oraniers pride themselves on their hardiness. Strydom says when people leave the town, it’s often because they can’t handle the hard work. Here, residents are expected not just to live – but also build.

The town’s population numbered 1,602 in 2018, the last year for which there is a completed census. Orania is experiencing population growth of about 10% per year, but everywhere you look, preparations are being made for a city many times its current size.
“We are currently building a new sewage dam for 7,000 people, expandable to 10 or 12 [thousand],” Strydom says. Driving around the town, he points out the construction which is happening on virtually every street.
“The demand for housing is constant,” Strydom claims. He says townhouses in new developments go for amounts which would be considered astronomical in other small Northern Cape towns: up to R1.2-million.
Everything Orania does is premised on the idea of continual growth. It’s both a vindication of their raison d’etre and a political necessity. The next step will be building a university here: there is land set aside for that purpose. A training centre offering diplomas in technical skills like plumbing and electrical work already exists.
We drive to Orania’s proudest current development: a multi-million rand “community safety centre” being built by AfriForum.
“It’s going to service the entire southern part of South Africa,” says Strydom. There is space within the building for a fire department, helicopter, ambulance and radio tower.
When I contact AfriForum to try to get some more details on the purpose of this facility, CEO Kallie Kriel emails me a decidedly defensive statement.
Kriel says the centre is just one of almost 150 community safety structures that AfriForum is establishing in both rural and urban areas across the country.
“Our aim is to play a constructive role to make the country safe as a whole. AfriForum is thus not ashamed that we also contribute to community safety in the Northern Cape and Orania,” he writes.
“In the same way that AfriForum was more than willing to assist the Zulu community in Nkungumathe to get a school, we are also more than willing to assist the Afrikaner community of Orania to fight the common enemy of the country, namely crime.”
That even a self-described Afrikaner rights organisation like AfriForum feels that it has to clarify that it is “not ashamed” to be associated with Orania tells you something about the reputation of this place.

In an air-conditioned boardroom in the headquarters of the Orania Movement (obligatory statue of HF Verwoerd: check), Strydom and I had already gone several rounds over the usual Orania questions.
No, there are no people of colour currently living in Orania – but neither, insists Strydom strenuously, is there an explicit prohibition against it. It is simply the case that the town only gives a home to those who are fully committed to the Afrikaner culture, ideology, language, and way of life.
I ask a question which has been on my mind since I organised this visit: In what ways exactly is “Afrikaner culture” considered so incompatible from the cultures of the rest of the country that it warrants withdrawing from society entirely?
After all, it’s probably safe to say that most South Africans are both Christian and conservative. It’s not hard to imagine a Zulu patriarch and an Orania tannie coming together over a shared distaste for the idea of banning corporal punishment in the home, for instance. And if the Afrikaans language is a cornerstone of this identity, it’s well known that the majority of first-language Afrikaans-speakers in South Africa are now people of colour.
“Afrikaner culture is not just speaking Afrikaans,” Strydom begins. “It’s a shared history, religion…”
But it soon becomes clear that, in reality, the objections of Oraniers to the rest of South Africa are far less cultural than they are political. Strydom cites affirmative action and land expropriation as issues on which Oraniers find themselves at loggerheads with contemporary South Africa.
The real reason why the almost 2,000 inhabitants of Orania have chosen to seclude themselves in this inhospitable part of the Northern Cape is because they do not want to live under majority – ie, black – rule.
“We [white Afrikaners] did minority rule for a while,” says Strydom, with laughable understatement, “and obviously it ended. It wasn’t sustainable. If we want to have any say, we need to be a majority in a certain area. We want – let’s say, a homeland. We are actually a very small nation. We just want a piece of land where we can look after ourselves and do things our way.”
I ask if he understands why so many people find the idea of Orania offensive – that it seems, to many, to be the absurd final manifestation of white South Africans’ refusal to share space with their black countryfolk.
“Isn’t the idea of forcing people to build a nation together offensive?” he shoots back.
But after a second Strydom regains his customary composure.
“I think people misunderstand Orania and genuinely feel it is an AWB stronghold,” he says.
As evidence that this perception is misplaced, he points to the fact that in Orania, all labour is done by white people.
Indeed, this is one of the only features that makes the town cosmetically different from other places in South Africa. On every street, white people are visible undertaking work that elsewhere in the country is almost always performed by black people, from construction to cleaning.
“We do all our own work. Compare that to the average estate in Pretoria or Johannesburg, where you live in a gated community, surrounded by people of the same income level, and get people from townships travelling for hours to come clean your toilets.”
I comment, half mockingly but half-seriously: “You sound quite woke.”
“I am,” Strydom responds immediately, with no trace of a smile.
“Everyone in Orania is woke. Just not the way you journalists think.”

The contradictions of Orania are many. It’s a town famous for its racism; it is also possibly one of the only places in South Africa which does not profit from the exploitation of black labour.
It is also a town which prides itself on its inhabitants’ self-sufficiency, but which offers a social welfare blanket to the poor far more extensive than that provided by the South African government in many areas.
Orania is divided into two areas. One is more upmarket, and known as Orania proper. The other is called Klein Geluk (literally: Small Happiness). Here one will find far more modest dwellings, with the universal markers of low-income communities: cars rusting in yards, dilapidated fences.
Rows of single-storey, flat-roofed rooms are Orania’s answer to low-cost housing. The rooms can be rented for around R900 a month; Strydom says the minimum wage works out to around R6,000 monthly.
“We don’t keep [poor people] going with food packets, but we try to give them the opportunity to help themselves. If you come here with nothing, you’re going to work in the sun most probably. You’ll get subsidised housing, but the next day you start working.”
Oraniers receive an interest-free loan from the local co-operative bank for the construction of a house. Land is made available to those whose income falls below a certain amount for around 10% of its market value.
Strydom sounds like many urban activists when he speaks about “breaking the cycle of poverty”, reeling off Orania’s three-step approach: stabilisation, rehabilitation, integration.
The opportunities available to poor white people in Orania have seen people arrive in recent years with possessions in plastic bags. Not everyone who applies to live here is approved – but Strydom, who sits on the committee responsible for the decisions, says only a small minority are rejected. Usually, rejections are the result of involvements with drugs or crime.
Strydom believes Orania’s interventions when it comes to poverty, contain useful ideas for the rest of South Africa.
“We help people to take responsibility for themselves,” he says.
“We give people menswaardigheid [dignity].”

The Verwoerd museum is immediately distinctive on a drive through Orania despite its location on the corner of an uninteresting suburban road: outside the house, a statue of HF Verwoerd stands permanent guard.
Strydom meets us in the garden to open the museum for us. It is not kept permanently accessible, he says, because the financial cost of having someone to staff the place would not be worth it. But judging by a guestbook filled with effusive compliments, quite a number of tourists make their way here annually and find the visit enriching.

Tourism is, in fact, the largest contributor to the Oranian economy. In 2019, almost 3,000 visitors took a tour of Orania. The total number of annual tourists is likely much higher, because those who did not participate in an organised tour are not counted in that figure.
Before we enter, Strydom explains that we are not permitted to bring in cameras – because “the Verwoerd family is very sensitive”.
The museum has two parts: a front section, filled with artefacts from the life and political career of Hendrik Verwoerd, and a back section which has preserved Verwoerd’s widow Betsie’s living quarters as they were on the day she died in 2000.

To call the place a “museum” is, in reality, a misnomer: museums generally try to grapple with the legacy of their subjects in a reasonably nuanced manner. Walking around, I reflected by way of contrast on the Harry S Truman museum in Kansas to which I was taken on a US State Department tour in 2018. Truman is, to many Americans, the heroic president who helped end World War II: but even in a place ostensibly set up to honour his memory, visitors were urged to contemplate the catastrophic human toll of the dropping of two bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki which brought the conflict to a devastating close.
What Orania has established to preserve the legacy of Verwoerd is more of a shrine. There is – quite literally – no attempt made to reflect on the extraordinary evil of the Verwoerd-orchestrated political system defined by the United Nations as a crime against humanity.
In each claustrophobic room there are large paintings and sculptures of the architect of apartheid, to the point where one exits feeling that his visage is permanently burnt on to one’s retinas. Hendrik Frensch Verwoerd, Man van Bestemming – Man of Destiny, one portrait announces.
On the morning of our visit, a barometer gifted to the Verwoerds registers a reading of “Dry”.
On display are presents from foreign governments, particularly Germany and Greece; Verwoerd’s fishing trophies; and a large scrapbook bearing cuttings from newspaper reports on Verwoerd’s time in office.
“As you can see, the economy was growing at 8%,” points out Strydom.
A photo album contains page after page of pictures of Aryan-looking athletes in action, and military displays of nationalistic pride.
In one corner, cordoned off by glass, is a worn red chair with long-dried drops of blood staining the fabric. It is the chair on which Verwoerd was sitting when the lesser-known first attempt on his life took place: a shooting by white farmer David Pratt at the Rand Show in 1960. Pratt would later plead insanity; he died in prison 15 months later, in one of apartheid’s suspicious “suicides” during incarceration.
Taking up almost an entire wall is an old South African flag.
“This flag is displayed for historical purposes,” Strydom says hastily, clearly mindful of the recent Constitutional Court ruling restricting the flag’s exhibition.
“I’ve never seen one up close,” murmurs my Daily Maverick colleague Ayanda, almost flinching.
“Oh, you haven’t?” says Strydom, with an awkward laugh. “Ja, it was an…interesting historical time.”
In another glass case, the crowning exhibit: the cream shirt, braces and jacket worn by Verwoerd when he was stabbed to death by parliamentary messenger Dmitri Tsafendas on 6 September 1966. The holes made by Tsafendas’ knife are visible, marked by police with little paper flags, and matched by faded bloodstains.
Strydom pauses to give us an account of the conspiracy theories surrounding Verwoerd’s assassination.
“A lot of right-wingers hated Verwoerd for the tax money going to black people,” he says earnestly.
His effort to re-frame Verwoerd as relatively liberal in the context of the time is an ongoing leitmotif of Strydom’s tour – though one clearly undermined by the fact that the UN was already expressing concern about South Africa’s racially discriminatory policies in the early 1950s.
Strydom insists on translating for us in full a letter written in Afrikaans and ostensibly signed by the residents of “Kutloanong Bantoedorp” – in other words, black people – expressing their deep sadness at the death of their “beloved father”.
Accompanying the letter was allegedly a jar containing 12,000 buttons, each one symbolising “a tear of a Bantu man, woman or child”.
As Ayanda later points out, there is no sign of the button jar in a dark nook at the back of the room reserved for “Geskenke van etniese groepe” – presents from ethnic groups.
The rest of the tour is taken up by the living quarters of “Tannie Betsie”, the widow who famously shared tea and koeksisters with President Nelson Mandela in 1995. Mandela had invited the wives of a number of former South African leaders to tea in Pretoria, but Betsie Verwoerd declined on the basis of age and illness. She added that Mandela was welcome to drop in for tea in Orania if he was ever in the area, and Mandela promptly called her bluff – arriving by helicopter and sitting down with her in the community hall.
There are no photographs of this meeting visible in Betsie’s home, which is an unremarkable tannie abode except for the giant portraits of her husband adorning the walls here too.
As we leave, Strydom holds the guestbook open and insists that we sign it.
I hesitate, reluctant to commit anything to the page which could read as an endorsement of this ghoulish space.
“Thanks for your time, Joost!” I write in the end.

Driving away from Orania, both Ayanda and I feel almost giddy with relief to be leaving. But in the days that follow, I turn over our visit and struggle to arrive at a definite interpretation.
Bidding us farewell, Strydom had said: “I don’t need you to approve of what we’re doing. But I do want you to at least acknowledge that it’s complicated.”
That is, in truth, easily done. Orania is complicated.
Standing on Monument Hill, Strydom pointed to the town’s symbol – a statue of a little boy rolling up his sleeves, intended to reflect Orania’s tiny size, but massive potential – and gave a heartfelt last argument for the town’s separatist existence.
“We’re not gonna demand that the state keeps universities Afrikaans. We’re just gonna build our own,” he said.
“We’re not gonna demand to have public service in Afrikaans, or live our culture, or even at this stage get treated fairly in business, or university requirements or whatever. We’re just going to go and create our own future.”
Put like that, the whole project of Orania seemed suddenly quite reasonable.
But what I couldn’t shake off as we drove away was the experience of the town’s creepy Verwoerd museum: an attempt not just to preserve the memory of apartheid’s architect, but actively to honour it.
There was no unseeing that. DM

Is The Food Crisis Over Or Just Getting Started?

The folks over at the UN stopped destroying the world for a brief few minutes to publish a piece (snapshot below) justifying their behavior and explaining the “benefits” of the famine they’ve engineered.
Not making this up.

The article remained on the UN website for a day or so before being deleted after it went viral on social media, with people horrified at the truly unbelievable evil. The good thing about this is that as they continue with their predictive programming and NLP (seriously, look into both and it promises to blow your mind), more and more people wake from their trance. Once woken, they realize the incredible danger they are all in. And that is a good thing because you can’t fight an enemy until you understand one exists.
The “great reset” requires a populace beholden to the government and nobody else. As the central planners pursue their agenda of getting there, this is bound to be fraught with an awakening and a lot of angst.
The Great Awakening of the Average Joe
While Joe Sixpack doesn’t understand most of these, he doesn’t actually need to.
What Joe does care about is when he can’t afford groceries and when his electricity bill now suddenly wipes out his entire annual disposable income.
And that is enough to provide both pushback and an increasing ability to awaken to the horrors of what comes for him if this communist agenda masquerading as a plan to “save us from climate change” is NOT stopped in its tracks.
And with this realization will come politicians — many who themselves are parasites but doing what comes naturally to them: sensing a shift in the winds and rushing to get in front of it, champion it, and gain support.
Here, take a look. According to France24, Giuseppe Conte, the head of Five Star, said:
I have a strong fear that September will be a time when many families will face the terrible choice of paying their electricity bills or buying food. We are absolutely willing to dialogue, to make our constructive contribution to the government, to Draghi, (but) we are not willing to write a blank cheque.
He’s not wrong, of course, but this is a thug who was a massive contributor to the problems our proverbial “Joe” now faces.
Take a look at this.

And as we’ve been continuously saying: energy underpins EVERYTHING. Which is why Eurozone CPI looks like it just mainlined viagra.

And this is saying something because as you know the way they measure CPI is, of course, complete hogwash and roughly half the real rate. Check out John Williams’ Shadowstats, where inflation in the US is calculated based on the methodology used back in the 80’s (pre-fraud). It just hit 17.3%. That’s a tad more than the 9.1% print they just tried to trick you with.

The other thing “Joe” cares about is when the government — under the guise of “saving the planet” — begins the process of stealing up to 50% of the farms in the Netherlands.
Reducing Nitrogen Emissions
Under a ridiculous narrative of “reducing nitrogen omissions” the Dutch government are proceeding with a blatant land grab of 30% of the Farmland. It is worth pointing out that air is 78% nitrogen. These morons have literally decided that air is dangerous.
Anyway, the farmers are having none of it and have blockaded roads, airports, and distribution centers. The fishermen have joined in and blocked the ports.
Domestically the Dutch farmers have massive support. Gratefully, people seem to intuitively understand that without them there will be no food. The propaganda is no longer having the desired effect on the populace. What a shame!
Every day a few more people wake to reality, and once you wake, you can’t unsee what you’ve seen. The existing political parties’ credibility is severely damaged. I’ve thought for some years now that if there is to be a shift, it will likely come from third parties. This is true across the Western world, and not uniquely a Dutch thing.
The Farmer–Citizen Movement in the Netherlands is now gaining momentum and size faster than any other.

Over in France, the Marxist agenda gathers momentum.
France plans full nationalization of power utility EDF
France will fully nationalise EDF (EDF.PA), Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne said on Wednesday, in a move that would give the government more control over a restructuring of the debt-laden group while contending with a European energy crisis.

It is at this point that we should review a little history.
The last head of a European government to be killed and eaten by a mob was Dutch Johan de Witt in 1672, who was mutilated, hung, and had his liver roasted and digested by Orangists in the Hague.

Davos man deserves at least as much.
In the meantime, Europeans are going to be cold and hungry. Winter is just a few short months away now which brings us to investment implications. The stampede will begin in earnest for food and all those banned products like fertilizer.
